Beskrivelse fra Saxo DK
Latin edition. 'De bello Gallico', or 'The Gallic War', is the independently written account by the Roman general Gaius Julius Caesar of the battles in Gaul. Although it cannot be considered historically accurate, the work is still regarded as the main source on Caesar's campaigns. To this day, it is one of the most widely read Latin books and continues to exert a great fascination and appeal..

*** Classica Latina is a distinguished series presenting the foundational masterpieces of ancient Roman literature in their original Latin. Spanning epic poetry, oratory, history, philosophy, and drama, this collection gathers the most influential texts that have shaped Western thought, language, and culture for over two millennia. Featuring the works of luminaries such as Virgil, Cicero, Ovid, Horace, Seneca, Livy, Tacitus, and others, each volume preserves the elegance and precision of classical Latin. These texts-The Aeneid, Metamorphoses, De Officiis, Ab Urbe Condita, Epistulae Morales, and many more-capture the grandeur of empire, the depth of Stoic thought, the brilliance of rhetoric, and the enduring power of myth and moral inquiry. Designed for students, scholars, and lovers of the classical tradition, Classica Latina is more than a literary collection-it is a gateway to the intellectual and artistic legacy of Rome, presented in the language that first gave it life.
